Little Auk Sculptural Wall Mural
The Little Auk Sculptural Wall Mural is a limited-edition decorative piece from the Guardians of the Ice collection. It’s inspired by one of my photographs taken in Svalbard: a little auk flying in front of the towering Arctic mountains, a moment that captures lightness, movement, and the vast stillness of the polar landscape.
This artwork is composed of hand-shaped and hand-painted square tiles, illustrated with slips in cool tones to recreate the bird gliding over the northern sea and mountains.
Each tile is a small work of art in itself, and together they form a mural that preserves both the strength of the original landscape and the subtlety of the handcrafted gesture.
The tiles are framed in wood, and the piece arrives fully ready to hang on your wall or display in your chosen space.
The surface is matte and unglazed but sealed to protect the design and preserve the color’s integrity over time.
Measuring 56 × 40 cm, it’s a piece of quiet yet striking presence, ideal for:
• living rooms, dining areas, studios, or home libraries
• spaces of contemplation and rest
• environments that call for a unique work connected to the wild
• collectors who value contemporary ceramic art
Each mural is one of a kind, with natural variations in tone, texture, and composition that reflect the slow, human process behind its creation.
It’s a piece for those who seek artwork with soul, depth, and purpose.
A window into the Arctic.
A fragment of northern silence and freedom.
A reminder of what it means to inhabit the world with presence.
